Summer Interns at Sanctuary |

As thermometers hit triple digits a few weeks ago, Sanctuary’s 25 summer
interns trekked through the Bronx to visit Sanctuary's Sarah Burke House, the largest transitional shelter in New York State, and the
Bronx Family Justice Center. Visiting two locations that are so vital to Sanctuary's clients and their wellbeing was both
emotional and educational.

Mothers Council Initiatives |

The Mothers Council is a group of women who are interested in supporting Sanctuary for Families’ work, while teaching their own children about the importance of service and giving back. Led by co-chairs Holly Lipton and Mary Cannon, the Mothers Council creates service and philanthropic opportunities to harness the personal and professional resources of this dynamic group of women.

Earlier this year, Sanctuary for Families was chosen as a charitable partner by Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP. The firm’s New York office has been a longtime committed supporter of Sanctuary’s legal work with attorneys providing pro-bono assistance to Sanctuary’s Center for Battered Women’s Legal Services. As part of this expanded relationship, WilmerHale’s employees will now also engage in a number of non-legal projects throughout the next two years.
