Avon's Need for Speed Relay

On June 8, 2008 Sanctuary for Families partnered with Avon on their 3rd Annual Need for Speed Relay Against Domestic Violence.

Sanctuary was one of six nonprofit organizations to partner with Avon on the 2008 Need for Speed Relay. The event, a 50-mile, 9-leg relay from Bear Mountain to the Long Island Sound, will raise funds to help children affected by domestic violence. 

As a partner organization, Sanctuary received a percentage of the funds raised through the event to support its work with child victims of domestic violence. The event culminated in a finish line event, where Sanctuary’s Mentors hosted an information table about Sanctuary and its work with domestic violence victims. In addition, Sanctuary sponsored a relay team, composed of staff members, interns, and volunteers.
