Sanctuary for Families provides Economic Empowerment Programming to lessen the effects of domestic violence on survivors who have been economically disenfranchised by abuse. We encourage and support them in creating violence-free futures by promoting economic stability and financial freedom. Currently Sanctuary offers the following programming:
-
Economic Stability Project: The Economic Stability Project (ESP) assists and empowers domestic violence survivors to help them achieve financial self-sufficiency.
- My Door: My Door is designed to help a sub-set of especially vulnerable survivors – those exiting domestic violence shelter and settling in the Bronx – arrive at economic self-sufficiency, housing permanence, family safety, and stability.
- Economic Justice/ Matrimonial Project: provides domestic violence victims with direct representation, consultations, and brief legal services on contested and uncontested divorce, child and spousal support, and public benefits cases, along with related custody, visitation, and protective order matters.
